Newsletters

Humans filter and judge all incoming information. Jo Brand pointed out that everyone who has had the opportunity to read a press article about themselves knows that there is a huge amount of inaccuracy, judgment and editorial bias that reflects the views of the writer rather than those of the subject. As the diversity of faculty in the Department of Radiology increases, the risk of both unconscious and conscious biases increases as well. Our experiences, abilities and perspectives are unique. Nobody can use them as we can. To foster inclusion of minority members and to increase empathy and understanding for every member in our community, we initiated a monthly newsletter, where staff, trainees and faculty share their thoughts and experiences on specific topics of interest. The new generation does not want to hear from “the Department” or “the University”. The new generation wants to hear from all people that make up the Department and University. Our newsletter is designed to foster local and global connections.
